Oxea has announced price increases across a broad portfolio of oxo intermediates in Europe, citing persistent rises in raw material, energy and supply-chain costs alongside prevailing supply-demand conditions. The new pricing takes effect from October 1, 2026, or as permitted under existing customer contracts.
In Europe, 2-Ethylhexanol (2-EH) will see the largest increase among the listed oxo intermediates, rising EUR 70 per metric ton, while n-Butanol and Isobutanol will each rise EUR 60/MT. n-Butyl acetate, iso-butyl acetate, n-Propanol and n-Propyl acetate will each increase EUR 50/MT, and Neopentyl glycol (NPG) will rise EUR 80/MT for molten-grade material and EUR 60/MT for 90% slurry-grade. Outside Europe, 2-EH will rise USD 80/MT across the Rest of the World, with n-Butanol and Isobutanol up USD 70/MT each and n-Butyl acetate up USD 60/MT, while North America and Mexico will see a USD 0.035/lb increase for 2-EH.
The regional differences indicate Oxea is aligning pricing with individual market conditions rather than applying a uniform global rise. Because 2-EH is a key feedstock for plasticizer production, and butanols and propanol derivatives are widely consumed as solvents and chemical intermediates, the increases carry bullish near-term signals for the 2-EH and butanol markets. Higher input costs could feed through into formulation economics across coatings, plasticizers, adhesives and specialty chemicals, making inventory planning and contract negotiations particularly relevant for buyers.
